Caregivers at Windham Hospital are raising awareness of their efforts to secure fair contracts in order to protect and preserve the community's access to vital acute care services. Registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), dietary, support, service and maintenance staff in two AFT Connecticut-affiliated local unions are organizing this effort jointly with the New England Health Care Employees Union, District 1199/SEIU, which represents mental health caregivers and support staff at Natchaug Hospital.

All union members, their friends, family and neighbors are encouraged to attend and walk the picket sign to send a message to Hartford HealthCare (HHC), which owns and operates both hospitals. It’s an important opportunity to demonstrate to the health network’s executives the community’s solidarity with its local caregivers. Note: members unions not affiliated with AFT or SEIU are asked not to wear or bring material with their logos in order to comply with the labor regulations governing health facilities.
