Three years ago, a multinational corporation bought a family-owned factory in New Haven. And now, over 100 workers in the factory are worried about their jobs staying in the city.

The workers are members of Local 151 of the New England Joint Board UNITE HERE and they are negotiating their first contract with the new company, Trelleborg.

At stake is job security language that ensures the work stays in New Haven. The company is also trying to squeeze the workers by attempting to eliminate their defined benefit plans.

On Wednesday, the workers will be holding an informational picket to stand up to these attacks. But we need to show company management that the labor movement stands with them.

Their current contract expires at the end of this month so we need to show the new management that we will not take these attacks on working people.

We will fight Trelleborg and any other company that tries to take away our retirement security and our job security.
