Area Labor Federations

In 2017, the eight Central Labor Councils (CLC) were reorganized under two Area Labor Federations (ALF) to greatly increase the ability of the labor movement to be successful in organizing and political action by consolidating our strength and resources throughout the state. The former CLCs are now chapters under their respective ALFs.

The local labor bodies are umbrella groups that include many unions in the area. They are the heart of the movement, partnering with state and community organizations and conducting state, local and national campaigns to improve the lives of working families.
